Afghanistan’s Architectural Legacy

Omar Sultan, Deputy Minister of Information and Culture for Afghanistan, explores the role of cultural preservation and the Afghani architectural landscape. The Bamiyan Valley, a World Heritage Site, is perhaps best known for its two monumental statues of Buddha destroyed by the Taliban in 2001. Presented in partnership with US/ICOMOS and with the cooperation of the National Geographic Society.
