Hard Hat Tour: EYA Reservoir District

On this exclusive Hard Hat Tour, participants will gain an inside look at the EYA Reservoir District, a transformative development taking place on the historic McMillan Sand Filtration Site in Washington, DC. The tour will explore the future of this dynamic neighborhood, which will feature 146 modern townhomes, a public community center with a pool, a 6-acre park, retail spaces, and more. This project blends contemporary living with the area’s rich historical legacy, creating a vibrant mixed-use environment for the community. 

Tour Schedule (Approx. 90 minutes):  

The tour will begin with a 20-minute introduction at the model home, where participants will hear from key project leaders, including Jack McLaurin, senior vice president of planning and design, Jack Lester, executive vice president of acquisition and development, and Matt Bell, Principal at Perkins Eastman. They’ll discuss the vision behind the development and its impact on the city. 

Following the introduction, participants will embark on a 70-minute guided walk through the construction site, gaining insight into the site’s history, the architectural and planning decisions, and the challenges overcome to bring this project to life. 

The tour will conclude with a 30-minute Q&A session where participants can dive deeper into the project’s history, its approval process, site planning, architecture, and the deal structure that made it all possible.
