EAR Matisse Escargot snail

Great artists have visual wit. Matisse demonstrates this with a collection of rectangles that he calls a snail. Upon closer inspection, the shapes and colors can be seen to form the sensual curve of a snail?s shell. This 1952 collage by Matisse serves as the inspiration for this earring.
