John Hancock Center Postcard
Since 1969 this building has been one of the most recognizable monoliths of the Chicago skyline. The sloping sides of the 100-story, 1127-foot tower are designed to deflect strong winds. Unlike many other skyscrapers the John Hancock Center is a multi-use structure: combining offices, shops, apartments and parking in one building as a self-contained urban village. This card includes all pieces and instructions necessary to make a complete paper model at 1:4000 scale, approx. 4.5″ tall.
All the cards in the Build Your Own Chicago series are mailable postcards, with space on the reverse for a stamp and address and a message. Each card also includes a short but informative description of the landmark the model represents. Instructions are included in the form of multi-lingual isometric diagrams.
