CityVision Team Leader

The CityVision Team Leader supports the National Building Museum’s longest running school program which offers youth in middle school an in-depth, hands-on opportunity to learn about how to create change through the design process. Team Leaders work directly with students as they develop technical skills – model making, technical drawing, scale use – and life skills – critical thinking, teamwork, public speaking, and visual literacy. Classroom responsibilities include project and classroom management and lesson planning and facilitation. In addition, team leaders have the opportunity to participate in program planning and evaluation.

The position commitment includes 7-10 hours/week, Tuesdays or Wednesdays for planning (time varies) and Thursdays (9:00 am-3:00 pm) for the program.

Qualifications

1.) Experience working with middle school students
2.) Enthusiasm for working with a diverse group of students and volunteers
3.) Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills
4.) Ability to work well in a team environment
5.) Experience in design, education, art, or museums a plus
