Festivals

Celebrating the world we design and build. From large-scale collaborative drawing to hands-on construction activities, our festivals invite visitors of all ages to explore the built environment through creativity, craftsmanship, and community connection.

The Big Draw

The Big Draw festival at the National Building Museum invites kids and adults to express themselves through large-scale, collaborative drawing activities. Participants explore creativity, share ideas, and engage with art in a fun, interactive way, fostering imagination, teamwork, and community connection through visual expression.

The Big Build

The Big Build is a free, hands-on festival focused on construction and design at the National Building Museum. Kids and adults learn directly from roofers, plumbers, designers, artisans, and other professionals through interactive activities in plumbing, woodworking, remodeling, and more. It’s an exciting opportunity to discover how the built world comes together, one skill at a time.
