Fun House Lead Visitor Service Representatives

The National Building Museum seeks three creative, adaptable, and team player focused individuals to serve as Fun House Lead Visitor Services Representatives. This part time position is responsible for assisting with operations and management of the Museum’s Summer Block Party installation – Fun House. This is an hourly paid, seasonal position beginning June 1 – September 9, 2018. Evening and weekend work required.
Responsibilities
- Manage Fun House and admission desk operating procedures including opening ticketing area, leading meetings, printing daily reports, interacting with visitors, and providing support for part time visitor services representatives.
- Monitor and maintain the appearance of Fun House and the admission desk. Report issues with operations or staff to Visitor Services Managers.
- Participate in planning staff trainings, attend Visitor Service staff meetings, and other professional development opportunities.
General Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree. A background or demonstrated interest in a museum setting, the building arts, museum studies and/or experience with retail sales or customer service.
- Availability: 25-30 hours per week, including weekends and holidays.
- Experience working as a member of a team as well as demonstrated ability to accomplish tasks independently.
- Preferred characteristics: creative, self-starter, problem solver, team player.
- Experience with Microsoft Office software and Square Point-of-Sales software encouraged by not required.
