WHAT
On Monday, September 25, the National Building Museum presents a talk titled, “Well-Designed: Demonstrating the Positive Impacts of Interior Design.” Randy W. Fiser, Hon. ASID, CEO, American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), David Cordell, ASID, associate principal, Perkins + Will, and Jaclyn Whitaker, LEED AP, senior vice president, International WELL Building Institute, will discuss the growing interest in standards for building interiors that support the health and well-being of their occupants. The new ASID Headquarters—the first space in the world to receive Platinum Level Certification from both the U.S. Green Building Council and the International WELL Building Institute™—serves as a case study.

The discussion is moderated by Clayton Apgar, director at Billy Clark Creative Management. This is the inaugural program supported by the Apgar Fund for Excellence in the Built Environment.

“[Our goal is] to encourage the communication of knowledge, experience and ideas about the built environment among policymakers, professionals and the general public,” said Apgar. “The Apgar Fund at the Building Museum, in particular, focuses on interior design, creating platforms for educators and practitioners to explore innovations in urban space, buildings, and interiors.”
